Days between two dates
Pick any two dates and see exactly how many days apart they are — plus the same span in weeks, months, years and working days. Everything is worked out in your browser.

How the difference is calculated
The calculator anchors each date to local midnight and subtracts one from the other, then converts the gap into whole days. Because it counts real calendar days, every leap day in between is included automatically — so the result is exact, not an estimate. The other figures follow from that day count: weeks are days ÷ 7, and the calendar span (years, months and days) uses the same “borrow” method explained in how to calculate your exact age.
Inclusive or exclusive?
By default the count is exclusive — it measures the gap between the two dates, so 1 January to 2 January is one day. Tick “include the end date” to count both endpoints instead, which is what you usually want for things like a hotel stay or a project that runs “from Monday to Friday inclusive.”
Weekdays and weekend days
The calculator also splits the span into weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekend days — handy for estimating working days, though it does not account for public holidays, which vary by country.
Common uses
- How many days until (or since) an event, deadline or anniversary.
- The length of a trip, contract, pregnancy or notice period.
- How long ago something happened, in days rather than years.
